Brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is a form of radiation therapy in which a radioactive source is placed directly into or near the tumor. Unlike external radiation therapy, in which radiation is delivered from outside the body, brachytherapy allows treatment to precisely target the tumor while protecting nearby healthy tissue. This technique can be used to treat several types of cancer, including prostate, cervical, breast, and skin cancer.
